CNN reports:
Floyd Brown, a far-right political activist with a history of anti-gay rhetoric and promoting conspiracy theories about former President Barack Obama, said he was fired from a senior leadership role he briefly held at the Kennedy Center — just hours after CNN reached out with questions about his past statements.
Brown’s past statements include calling homosexuality “a punishment” upon America and condemning the legality of gay sex. He has also falsely claimed that Obama is Muslim and promoted conspiracy theories about his birth documents.
Brown briefly served as a Vice President of Development, a top fundraising role responsible for helping raise tens of millions of dollars annually in support of the nation’s most prominent performing arts center.

Brown, an evangelical pal of Christian nationalist bullshit artist David Barton, appeared here in February 2025 when he declared that Trump will bulldoze Gaza, ship the Palestinians out, and build a “world-class resort.”
Brown, who created the infamous “Willie Horton” attack ads against Michael Dukakis, appeared here in April 2019 when he formed a pro-Trump PAC with Dead Herman Cain.
Brown first appeared here in 2010 when he said this:
“The Obama presidency is a disease. Article 2, Section 4 (the impeachment clause of the Constitution) is the cure. And it’s Obama’s hatred of America that makes it absolutely imperative that we take action now. Barack Hussein Obama is not some do-gooder that has had his plans go astray. He is not a person of good will just trying his best to make America go the right direction. He is not. Barack Hussein Obama is a liar that absolutely knows what he’s doing to the United States of America. He has a plan. He has an agenda. This man knows exactly where he’s taking us. Obama hates Christianity. He is a Muslim. Others will say he’s just a godless atheist. The bottom line is that this man hates Christianity.”
